Privacy

We put protection of the respondent's privacy first! Ipsos respects the rules for privacy and protection of personal data. Any personal data will be exclusively used by Ipsos. We will never provide respondent data to third parties without seeking permission from the respondent first.

As member of the European Association for Market Research (ESOMAR), Ipsos adheres to the international code for market research. This code is endorsed by ESOMAR in collaboration with the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC).

In this international code, the respondent's privacy is protected as follows:

  • The respondent's co-operation with a market research project is entirely voluntary at any stage. The respondent must not be misled when he is asked to co-operate.
  • The respondent's anonymity must be strictly guaranteed. If, at the researcher's request, the respondent agrees to provide data in such a form that may make it possible to identify the individual respondent, then:
    • The respondent must first be explained whom the information will be provided to and for which purposes it will be used;
    • The researcher must ascertain that the information will not be used for any purpose outside the scope of the survey. Besides, the researcher must have the certainty that the receiving party has agreed to adhere to the terms of this code.
  • The researcher must take all reasonable precautions to make sure that the respondent is prevented from any direct harm in any way, or that the respondent is prevented from harm as a result of participation in a market research project.
